Q. What dates are the Annual Across Ireland fun run on??. A. The Annual Across Ireland run will be held on the 28th-29th August 2010 ,
Q. Where is the meeting point/launch for the event on Saturday??. A. The event will take off from the ‘Lord Mayors residence’ (Mansion House) on Dawson Street, in Dublin city centre.
Q. What time is ‘Sign on’?? and what time is ‘Pull Out’ at??. A. Sign On, is from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday and Pull Out, is at 1.00pm (sharp).
Q. Is the run Marshaled and do we travel in a group/convoy??. A. Yes the run is fully Marshalled (Marshall out riders), and has also got a Garda bike escort. Yes we do travel in convoy as with 1000+ bikes it is both easier & safer, not to mention (it looks super).
Q. Are there any recovery/support vehicles travelling along with the group?? A. Yes there are two (2) recovery vehicles travelling with group, just in case some one runs out of fuel, gets a puncture etc…. and there are also some support vehicles travelling with collectors, medics & space for your bags / luggage.
Q. Where are the group stopping over in Galway?? Is there any pre booked accommodation . A. The Group will stop over in Galway on Saturday Night. A full list of accommodation and contact details is available in our accommodation page ..The name of the Venue will be published very soon ,and accommodation in the venue will only be for people who are registered on the run..
Q. Is there any entertainment or a function arranged for the Saturday stop over ??. A. Yes, There will be a function held on the Saturday night, With live music by renowned (Dublin Based) Band "Loose Change". There will also be a raffle and auction. Finger food will also be served . (A super night's fun ).
Q. Is there secure parking for the bikes and vehicles in Galway?? A. Yes there is an under ground car park which will be allocated only to the bikes and vehicles taking part on the run. This is locked at all times until we leave.
Q. Will there be a brief stop and refueling point along the route??. A. Yes. There will be 2 refueling stops, 1 will be at Kilmartin’s Service station, at roundabout, start of Athlone bypass on N6, to refuel and grab some refreshments, which will be provided by the Fun Run Team. On our return we will be stopping for a short break and refueling at Dolans Service Station Dublin side of Ballinasloe
Q. How do I become involved in this Event.. A. This event is open to all bikers wanting to participate .Below is a list of requirements we require to participant .. 1) All participants must Pre Register to take part on the run. After which they will be issued a sponsors pack containing sponsorship card. We require a minimum of €250 to be collected to participate on the run ,which Has to be returned 10 days prior to the run with full payment and sponsorship card. 2) All Bikes Must Be Road Worthy & Riders Must Have Valid Tax and Insurance to take part on the run. 3) Because of the large number of bikes involved and the different levels of experienced riders on the run we have to stress the importance of safety. We will not condone dangerous or irresponsible riding by and participant, . 4) The only other thing we require of you is to have a good time and enjoy been a part of this event .
Q Can We Just Turn Up On The Day and Take Part In The Event? A No. This event is a strictly Pre Registration event. As this is a Children's Charity fundraising event our aim is to raise as much as we can to help our chosen Charity. This is why all participants receive a sponsors pack and are expected to collect sponsorship. All registered members get a wrist band and a numbered sticker is placed on there motorcycle . Entry to the Mansion House and Main Function in Galway require your wrist band to be shown. No wrist band no entry ..This will be monitored by the crew of the Annual Across Ireland . Bikes will be monitored by the Marshall's and Garda. Any unregistered bikes will be asked to leave the run.
